Artificial intelligence in medical technology: Together with our partners, we are driving medtech innovation forward – with commitment, responsibility, and a focus on the future.
Artificial intelligence is no longer a concept for the future, but is actively changing our economy, research landscape, and society. How can we use this momentum to combine innovation and responsibility?
At our event “Artificial Intelligence in MedTech: Status Quo – From Startups to Corporates to Universities”, we discussed this question together with Swiss Medtech, Sitem Insel, and the Bern Economic Development Agency.
Highlights of the evening:
- Corporate Perspective
Dr. Thomas Friese (CTIO, Straumann Group) showed how AI is revolutionizing dentistry—from diagnostics and treatment planning to global scaling.
- Startup Insights
Yossi Bar (CEO LEM Surgical) provided exciting insights into AI-supported, multi-arm robotic platforms for complex spinal surgery.
- Research & Translation
Prof. Annie Hartley (EPFL/Harvard University) presented Meditron and MOOVE – approaches to making LLMs usable for medicine.
The event concluded with a lively panel discussion on the opportunities and challenges of a national AI strategy, moderated by Adrian Hunn and Dr. Knut Sauer.
A big thank you to all speakers, partners, and participants for the inspiring exchange and exciting discussions during the reception that followed!
