Transforming a desktop app into a scalable, secure SaaS solution
Starting from brand-specific desktop software for traditionally oriented markets, WSA took the leap to the cloud and a scalable SaaS solution aimed at establishing the hearing care industry’s premier fully cloud-based fitting service with global reach.
With Helbling, WSA gained the technical expertise required for a successful cloud transition. Helbling supported the introduction of an innovative Kubernetes-based cloud-native architecture, defined the infrastructure blueprint with delivery pipelines, and implemented a DevSecOps approach. Data engineering challenges were also addressed, including zero-downtime data migration and data anonymization.
Security & compliance by design
By embedding security and compliance early in the architecture and development process and engaging regulatory experts across target countries, Helbling helped position the solution to meet regulations and data privacy standards in all markets from the outset.
Through automation, such as the automatic generation of a Software of Unknown Provenance (SOUP) list, Helbling enabled WSA to meet medical requirements cost-effectively. With the cloud architecture in place, the focus shifted to production readiness. Helbling strengthened the digital immune system and optimized resilience, building on the high-availability architecture. The result is a platform that keeps pace with changing customer needs, supports continuous improvement, and maintains consistently high quality.
